Amber, Discuss your concerns about your breast size with your surgeon. Personally, I spend a lot of time with my patients discussing size and looking at before and after pictures to make sure we are both on the same page. If you are unhappy, it should be a relatively simple procedure to replace the breast implants with a smaller size. Gainesville, FL

Cherie DD, Sorry to hear about your problem. Before recommending you have the implant(s) removed, I'd be interested to know what makes you think you have a rupture in the first place? Silicone breast implants rupture rates are very low in the first few years, and I would suspect several other potential problems (ie capsular contracture, implant malposition, etc) before I would suspect rupture. My recommendation would be to see the surgeon who placed the implants and be examined. An MRI would be the second step, and only then would I recommend surgery. Removal of the implants can be fairly inexpensive, however, I suspect you will want them replaced, which will add significantly to the cost. Good luck in the future. Dr. Tyrone Gainesville, FL

So Sorry, I find that my patient are overwhelmingly happy with their breast implants. Is there something in particular that you are unhappy with. If you are still early in the recovery period, the breast implants may take some time to settle and take on a more natural appearance. Discuss your concerns with your provider and see what they say. It is possible to remove the implants entirely, however this may leave you with loose skin over the breast. Dr. Tyrone Gainesville, FL

CATSAKON, In the US market, I don't believe the CUI implants are available. However, they are manufactured by Allergan which offers a wide range of sizes and styles of breast implants in the US. I would suggest you talk to your physician and/or Allergan directly to find out about the implant safety and their warranty for the US market. Warranty may be your biggest concern. Regarding the profile of the breast implant, depending on your chest width, a low profile implant my have been indicated with such a small (200g) implant. As long as you are happy with the size and shape, low profile is fine. Dr. Tyrone Gainesville, FL

KK, Seromas typically occur around the implant itself, not frequently under the skin or nipple. They can be difficult to detect and may require an ultrasound. I suspect what you are describing is normal postop swelling, but don't be afraid to bring your concerns up with your provider. Dr. Tyrone Gainesville, FL
