Sculptra must be reconstituted in the office setting prior to injection. The reconstitution procedure must be performed using a completely sterile technique. From what I am reading in all of these posts with problems they are either being infected or have poorly placed product. These two consistent issues are infection and poor injection technique. Perhaps the company needs to scrutinize who is allowed to inject this product in the future. Dr Apesos
Well, I have used Sculptra for many years. Is it possible that the initial injections were contaminated? Perhaps the infection was due to other reasons, obvioully I do not have your entire medical history nor was I there to actually observe the injection technique used. But I will plan discuss this with my rep. I too am concerned with your case. Please send pictures to jamesapesosmd@aol.com Dr Jim Apesos
Wow, such bad stories. These issues make me wonder who the "practitioners / doctors" are who have had such problematic patients. I have been injecting Sculptra and many other types of filler for years with no such horror stories. It would be helpful if the bad result stories were accompanied by an idea of the doctor’s real credentials as being a board certified and trained dermatologist or plastic surgeon or ENT surgeon. When I hear that the doctor’s is gone and the office is closed I wonder who you are dealing with.
