I am one month short of it being a year since I had a full fledge tummy tuck, tightening of muscles and the works. I had lost over a hundred pounds that took me five years to lose from watching what I ate and swimming three times a week. Needless to say I had a lot of excess skin and lots of fat to be removed that would not come off with exercise. My surgery took about 5 hours and cost approximately 9,000 including hospital. I also had an old gallbladder scar so I had to be cut lengthwise and the bikini cut, kinda like a T. Of course there was some pain. I prayed to never have to cough but that is what a pillow is for. I stayed in a certain position, and I kept moving. I walked every day as much as I could. The more you move the less pain you will experience. Just stay bent over, follow your doctor's directions to the letter. Also if you are moving you will have less of a chance for blood clots. I ate prunes because of the pain pills and that seemed to help with my not getting constipated. Every time I started hurting I would look at my before picture and then look at my flat belly. I have the most gorgeous body now and I buy bikini panties at Victoria's secret all the time. I promise you it takes about 6 months before you will see how really great your body looks ,,, it is so exciting. Just enjoy. Oh, and 7 months later I went back and had work done on my face. Now everyone guesses me at 32... I just turned 57. If you are fortunate enough to get a tummy tuck, stop worrying, it just gets better. I PROMISE YOU! Now smile, it goes great with a flat belly!
