Yes you can, as long as you do it gently. I often advise women to sit and let their children sit on their laps rather than reaching down to pick them up from a standing positon. You may need some help placing your child in a car seat the first 2-3 days after surgery because of soreness. I would discuss this with the whoever did the procedure. Temporary application of Desonide cream may help twice each day for a week or two. This is not likely to be permanently scarrred. Just protect it from the sun with a good sunscreen for the next few weeks.
