I agree 100% that you do not have to have a tummy tuck! Diastasis can be repaired by a series of massages performed by therapists skilled in post partum massage. We are 100% successful in bringing the two sides of the rectus together and then teach the mom exercises to strengthen them. The cost? Around $500. Down time? None! Cutting? NONE The only thing we cannot take care of is if there is a huge amount of excess skin. WHY HAVE SURGERY?!
I have had private messages asking where we are located but when I clicked to respond, the website wouldn't let me! We are in Orange County, south of LA... This is our address: StressBusters 26548 Moulton Parkway, Suite D Laguna Hills, Ca. 92653 (949) 831-1988
Gosh, I wish you lived out here!! We have brought together such a split many times. Our series is a six session one, and sometimes it has taken a few more sessions than the six, but usually just six plus some exercises that we teach the moms. You might try looking up some prenatal massage therapists and see if they do any post-partum rehabilitation work. We had our work trademarked by the Department of Trademarks last year since we've perfected it over the 17 years we've been doing it. I would hope that other dedicated pregnancy therapists could certainly help you. I wish we could get the word out to EVERY new mom about this work; it would save alot of pain and money. Having said that, our work cannot shrink the excess skin but surgery is CERTAINLY not the only answer to fix diastasis recti as surgeons would have you believe!!!
as a massage therapist who has specialized in prenatal and post-partum massage for nearly 18 years, one does NOT have to have a tummy tuck to bring the two sides of the stomach muscles back together!! The excess skin removed perhaps, but we have perfected a massage series that is 100% successful returning the muscles to their pre-pregnant position. Ask a surgeon for advice and you will get what they do best as an answer...surgery!!
