I just received a letter from GE Money telling me they have credited my account for the balance of $3500. I had filed a dispute with them a couple of months ago. I suggest the rest of you do the same if you financed through Care Credit.

As I said earlier, I have filed a complaint with Jay Nixon's office (Attorney General, MO). I also sent a certified letter with a return receipt to GE Money disputing the charges and explaining in detail what happened. I received a response from Jay Nixon's office saying they are investigating and advised me to send the certified letter. In the meantime, according to the Fair Credit Billing AcT, I am not required to make payments on the account. I do not care about getting any more treatments. They were painful and I was having to plan my entire weekend around those shots, which meant do nothing but lay around. I know now that they probably would not have worked anyway. Since then, I have changed my eating habits, including giving up sugar (I use SPLENDA instead) and I walk for 20-30 minutes a day. I have already begun to see a difference and I feel better! I cannot wait to buy some new clothes in a smaller size! I would suggest that the rest of you do the same. Get going on that letter to GE Money, and make sure you send it certified with a return receipt! File your complaint with your state's attorney general; you can do that online. Once you do all this and start exercising, you are going to feel better. Good luck to all of you, and I hope you will post your progress here on this blog because I check it all the time and I would like to know how you are doing.

Dees is right. They did not promise weight loss and only promised that I would lose inches if I did not gain weight. Lipodissolve is not and has never claimed to be a weight loss program. Unfortunately, I will never know if it would work for me because I only had a total of 5 (very painful) treatments and I was treating 3 areas. (I cannot belive they claimed you could do it on your kunch hour and go back to work!!!) So I had just begin my treatments when they closed their doors. I have not heard from FIG; they claim they are contacting all their patients; nor do I expect to hear from them. I have filed a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General and I have sent a letter to CareCredit (GE Money Bank) disputing the charges. I refuse to believe they can get by with this, so I am remaining optimistic. I do not care if I do not get a full refund; I just do not want to have to pay any more since I am not getting what was promised to me. I am ashamed of myself for stupidly getting involved in this program. I have started a weight loss and exercise program and am already seeing results. I should have done this in the first place.

Did you ever get your refund? I just want to know if anyone ever did. As you know, they have closed their doors and flown the coop. It will be up to the courts to decide now.

I would be curious to know whether you get your refund at all now since they have closed their doors and filed bankruptcy. Please e-mail me and let me know if you do since I am going through the same thing.
