Dear FightingMad, I really don't know why you missunderstood me. I'm not saying that Fraxel or other lasers are safe or that they don't cause problems. What I tried to say is that I'm sure that infection is a risk of any procedure: you can get it from a chemical peel, botox injections, facelift, etc. Infection doesn't come from the device itself, but from something that goes wrong during the procedure (bad hygene, bad pre or post operative care, low inmune system, etc). Yes, I've read Angela Walker and Christine Hoene's posts, It's very sad and I believe them.
I've read my previous comment and I don't think I said that Fraxel was a safe procedure or that it didn't have adverse effects, and I stick to my believe that laser per se didn't cause infection unless the machine was contaminated.
I think that infection is a risk from any dermatologic procedure, but is not the fault of the laser per se. Maybe poor hygene from doctor's office, or just low inmune system... I don't know.
People don't realize that just because this procedures are not open heart surgery, it doesn't mean that they don't have a lot of risks.
Sorry you had to go through this, hope ou're healing well.
