Silicone injections are theoretically inert but can cause serious problems due to inflammation, migration, and infection. These complications can cause deformity and pain. In my practice in Santa Monica, I routinely treat patients with serious problems from silicone injections using a regimented protocol to reduce inflammation and volume deformity.

Well placed scars are critical for removal of lipomas without noticeable scarring. Your best bet is an experienced plastic surgeon who will play close attention to the quality and placement of scars.
