My surgeon had a good rep and many years experience. However, i think his type has done these surgeries so much they just fly through them. I felt like he sort of did a half-arsed job. After 8 weeks, It was clear it wasn't getting any better, (and didn't) but of course he kept making me wait. I think I made it 13 weeks before I finally convinced him that I wanted something done. He did a small revision in his office, it was easy, he gave me a local. However, he was so conservative it barely improved the problem. That was that, I found another doctor (a woman). The woman was great and knew exactly what to do. She did another, more dramatic fix that worked perfectly. Again in her office, it healed in a couple of weeks. I did have to have stitches both times so that was a pain. I just wanted It DONE so i could wear makeup and get on with my life. This was supposed to be a good thing i did for myself. Instead, i felt like i was being punished for vanity or something. My kids kept asking me what was wrong with my eye as it dragged on so long. I also had to pay the second surgeon $700 to do the final fix. I just wanted a conclusion. I am so sorry you are going thru this. I know you just want to recover and feel good about yourself. Just remain calm knowing you can have a revision and it can be fixed. Try not to fret, i wasted a lot of time worrying and feeling bad about my choice to have the surgery. I have a small scar from the second surgery (he did), I'm hoping in time it will be gone. I don't think yours sounds as bad as mine, half of my right lid dropped. Cutting off that excess skin did the trick. try not to worry
Hi Renee, i didn't know how else to contact you so i hope you see this. I'm the original question writer. My eye never improved and my surgeon did a revision that did not help much. I found a new surgeon who easily saw the problem and corrected it. This was an emotionally draining process and i'm glad it is all behind me. I feel i look fine, however have more scarring on the eye that had so many touch ups. At least the lid is no longer drooping. I'm sorry you are going thru this. These doctors don't appreciate what it's like to put yourself thru this, try to heal and then be so heartbroken. They talk about additional surgery like it's nothing. It's very difficult emotionally. - Bronte
