I'd recommend switching to second set immediately - the longer you wait the more your teeth will move in their original position. I also think you should just switch both upper and lower teeth to the second set. 10 days is not the preferable 14 days per set but given your case its totally fine - my orthodontist told me in some cases people that get express invisaligns where you change the sets every week instead of every 2 weeks. So it is nothing impossible its just better to do it every 2 weeks. In your case change to second tray right away and make sure your dog stays away from them!!!
Thank you for sharing your story!! It will be cool to see before pictures and then once you are done with the invisalign treatment post "after" pics. And FYI when you get the buttons at first its a pain to get the aligners in and out but within a day or two it becomes easy!
I have the same experience 2 months into the treatment now. Although I not floss after every meal I do brush very often and agree that my personal dental hygiene practices have never been better :)
Is there any type of food that I can eat that won't stain the invisalign trays terribly? Do not eat food with your aligners on - they are not meant to stay on your teeth while eating. Also you should not drink anything but water with them on. Because the sugar and acids in drinks will build up on your teeth in between the aligners. Some reviewers on here talk about drinking milkshakes and other liquids with straws but my dentist (who's wife also wears invisalign) emphasized the importance of not eating or drinking ANYTHING other than water with the aligners on. Taking them off and on will become much easier - dont worry about it the pain will go away too. If it does not after a few daysyou need to consult your physician. For me the only difficult part was drinking my lattes in the morning - because I love taking my time with it while at work. But now I take the aligners off for half an hour or an hour while i drink my latte then i rinse my teeth or ideally i brush them as well as brush my aligners real quick - and voala put them back on :) This way your aligners never have a chance to get stained by anything.
Hi Barb, One advice I will give from reading the other reviews is make sure you are talking to an experienced orthodontist. Because I do know Invisalign is not for every case. But I am certain the overcrowding on your bottom teeth is something that invisalign can fix. I have friends that had that issue even on top and bottom and now after their invisalign treatment have perfect smiles. Good luck! Bobbie
