Hi Katlam, Thanks for commenting on my post. It's encouraging to know someone finds it useful. It's kinda funny that my review is so long. I'm a complete introvert and if we were in the same room together, you probably couldn't get more than three full sentences out of me even with the threat of bodily harm ! I KNOW I will come across like a hypocrite for saying it but please don't let body issues get you too down. I completely sympathize with how you're feeling. Even to the point that I would never pursue flirtations because I just wasn't ready for anything that might come of it. It was hard for me to look at my body and I sure as heck didn't want anyone else seeing it. My PS asked me to disrobe and I said, "Sure but you'll need to keep your eyes closed!" I guess that would be his only short-coming is that he wasn't trained in examinations by braille. If the surgery is really what you feel you need, I'm sure it will come to you. I'm more spiritual than religious but I will send prayers your way. Something else you might want to keep in mind is that we are SO much harder on ourselves than anyone else would be. I think we mind our lumps and bumps more than men would mind our lumps and bumps so don't let that stop you from opening yourself up to the possibility of new love. I saw your picture and YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!! You make 51 look good.
Thank you!!! And yes, I chose the position of my scar...mostly. I explained to my PS that I wanted the scar to follow the natural line that you can see on my second picture (frontal pre-op). Right before surgery I asked him to give me the marker so that I could do it myself (oh-she of little faith ) to make sure it was done just the way I wanted but he declined my request and then I was unconscious so there was no debate. That was OK because apparently he DID listen to me unlike a hair-dresser I went to once who left me with three inches of hair after I went in for a trim and style -- and I was pregnant -- and emotional -- and went home and cried for days, GRRRR. I said he followed it "mostly" because he did bring the scar further down on the pubic area which turned out to be a good idea. My fear of the scar being too low on the pubic area was that I might end up with a "kitty lift" which I did not want. I wanted my scar to follow that natural line because that's how most of my current clothes fit. Swimsuits are high leg and low-rise jeans fall just a bit above where my scar lands on my hips. The placement of the scar was golden for me. I guess you can't really see it because I'm still wearing tape at the request of my PS (something about improving the scar in the long run) but I will post more pictures when the tape comes off showing exactly where the scars are and how wonderfully thin they are. My belly scar is actually closer to the bottom of the tape. Not the middle. Thanks again for taking the time to write. Good luck with your procedures. I know you're gonna look fantastic!
Ack, you just made my eyes misty. It sounds like you know what I was feeling and I obviously felt it enough that I'm still emotionally affected by the thought of how disproportionate my body was. You didn't say how old your little-one is. You may still bounce back. It took me awhile after my second baby but it did happen. Thanks again
YAY! Thank you for the support. I feel great but it's ALWAYS nice to have someone high-five you.
Wow, I didn't know the prices had come down so much in the U.S.! But I guess that is the way it is with everything. You would charge $8000 for a full tummy tuck and breast lift or you do charge $8000 for those procedures? Does that include the binder and all post office visits and bedside nurse and over night stay? That would be great! I have a friend in the U.S. who wants to have the same procedures after she drops a few more pounds. Thanks for letting me know.
