At my first visit to the orthodontist, I was quoted $5600.00 for invisalign. I was so excited at the thought of having straight teeth (I'm 42 years old with 4 very crowded bottom teeth) so when they told me they could take the impressions at that time, I readily agreed. I gave a down payment of $4000.00. Now I received my first invoice and I am being charged a total of $7450.00. The breakdown is as follows:
Prelim Ortho Records $485.00... Begin full invisalign $5600.00...Adult Ortho Exam $60.00...Ortho retention $765.00 (permanent retainer at the end)...Invisalign impression $600.00
I feel like I am being taken. I was under the impression that at least the invisalign impressions would be included in the $5600.00. The doc told me that it would take 1-1/2 to 2 years and I am so afraid that if I go longer than 1-1/2 years they are going to charge me even more. Is it normal to charge a la carte like my ortho is doing? WHen I was told they were $5600.00 I thought that meant they cost $5600.00 - not $7450!!
