It will take more than 30 days for her to see any results or lack there of.In fact, after about 6 weeks, she will probably look like she did before, except for the uneven sides of her face, the scars, and the folds of skin that will appear beneath her chin, as they have on all of the lifestyle lift patients that I have spoken with. Have you had one?? I have....
When I saw your day 1 picture, I was looking at myself. I could not even move for 5 days afterward. I am not a pansy, and have a high threshold for pain, but I was crippled by this.I looked just like you did. I have a huge red mark on the side of my neck that was not there before the procedure. My neck still hurts to the touch, I cannot wear scarves or turtlenecks comfortably any more. I have a huge scar behind one ear that looks like skin was gathered up in a bunch and sewn together. These scars itch constantly and horribly. I could scratch my self bloody, if I did give in to the itching.
I would make sure the doc was good at what he is doing. Find out what meds they are giving you. And look into the two women who have died in relationship to the Lifestyle lift procedure. I am not saying that the procedure caused their deaths, one in Florida and one in Massachusetts, but the one in Mass. happened because the patient had an adverse reaction to the meds and had a seizure. The article said that the people at the office waited 30 minutes before calling 911 or getting her to the hospital. There are no pre-screening work ups as far as health of the patient is considered before surgery. My blood pressure was high and they told me it was because I was nervous and not to worry about it. As far as I knew, they did not contact my primary care physician to get my medical records.
I have not been on this site for a while but I am going back to the Waltham office for a follow up...after a year and a half. I did not go back for the 6 week check up because I was afraid. My procedure was not described to me in detail, and I could actually smell my own flesh burning. It was a good thing that I was "high" because otherwise I would have gone insane. I even asked the doc(who is no longer there) if that was what I was smelling and he said "yes". The person who came with me wanted to take me to the emergency room when he saw me. All of the workers at the office came out to look at me and he said that all of them were horrified. Immediate difference? I would say so. After the swelling went down, I looked the same. I wasted $6000. I had no experience with plastic surgery and saw the news shows, etc. about this procedure and thought that it would alright. Now my ears itch like I have poison ivy behind them, my earlobes look like they came from two different people and I have a weird double flap of skin under my neck that I never had before. The lipo that was performed under my neck left me lop-sided with a large ridge running from ear to ear under my chin. I wonder what will happen when I return. I am glad that some patients are happy, but wait awhile. Any difference I saw after the extensive bruising and hematomas went away, was gone when the swelling went down and my skin returned to normal. I specifically spoke to the doc about what my concerns were before the surgery-puppet mouth, sagging neck and jowls. He said that he could get rid of all of that,no problem. Then why do I still have them?
It has been a year for my LSL and I am sort of satisfied with the results. My puppet mouth has returned somewhat although the skin on my lower face is still more firm than it was initially. I had a double chin that was caused by the separated tendons in my neck.No matter how much weight I lost I always had a double chin and no jaw line. Now I do not have the double chin, as I had liposuction with the procedure, and had the tendons sutured(or so I was told). At any rate, my neck has loosened up somewhat. but no where near to what it had been pre-surgery. I looked like a swollen freak the day after surgery and could not leave the house. But today, no one can tell that I had anything done, which was one of my goals, and my profile is alot better looking than it was. I have also just finished paying for the procedure so I am pretty happy about that as well. I am honestly not sure that a traditional facelift would have had a better outcome. I do not know anyone who has had one, or seen before an after pictures of one. I would like to see those pictures before I decide if this procedure is a waste of money.
