I see you are in DelMar. Dr. Lashgari is in Encinitas and he did mine. I could not be happier and you might want to give him a try (at least for a consult.)

I had the IPL with ALA. I wonder if the ALA is what made the difference with my skin? I am not sure who did your procedure, but I went to a dermatologist/plastic surgeon. He is well-respected in my area. It is also my understanding that some people need more than one treatment. I got excellent results with the one treatment. Perhaps you might need another treatment? I am sorry your experience did not turn out like mine.

Hang in there! My face was a mess for almost three weeks. I stayed in the house and away from the public. There was no way I could have gone to work. After the peeling was finished, my new skin is smooth and very even toned. I will say to keep your hands away from you healing skin and do not pick at it. I used Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser to wash with and moistruized with Cetaphil moisturizing cream after washing. I did this twice a day. On the really dry areas, I used Aquaphor Healing Ointment. These were my doctor's directions. I think once all the healing is complete you will be very happy with the outcome of your procedure.

I have had 9 MOHS surgeries done by a dermatologist/plastic surgeon. The object of MOHS in the first place is to minimize scarring. My experience has been that they surgeon will numb the spot, take a small layer and have it biopsied. If the margins are all clean, you will be stitched up and you may leave. If the margins are not clear they will numb you again and take another thin layer. Sometimes you can sit in the office 3 or 4 hours until they get all the cancer. I have had to go back into the surgical suite three times but I am thankful that the doctor does not just cut a chunk out. He takes the time and excises as little tissue as possible and still gets all the cancer. His stitching technique is superb.

It is important to choose your provider wisely too. There are levels which coincide with the amount of training an orthodontist has had. My ortho was a premier provider and I am totally thrilled with the results. I admit water is the only liquid I drink but I wear my trays 20 to 22 hours a day. I was supposed to be finished in 18 months. By being vigilant, I will be finished in 12 months and will wear my retainers as instructed. I had absoulutely no speech problems. My only complaint is a few mouth sores due to getting used to new trays every two weeks. I, too, had buttons on my teeth.
