I'm 32, just had my lovehandles smart-lipo'ed, 10 days ago. I have very hard spots and I'm starting to massage out but it's very painful. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with hard-spots under the skin. I was worried.
I'm still swollen and bruised but every day now I see significantly less bruising and swelling. Hopefully, another 10 days and the pain will subside.
Thanks for the tip on the arnica..
I would recommed you look into doctors that are serious about Liposuction as a main service they offer and can offer several people to recommend them. Meet the doctors and have very detailed discussion of what to expect before and after surgery. Meeting them first will give you a good indication on their personality and if they are conscience of your wants and needs.
I had smartlipo on my lovehandles a week ago. I was swayed to go to this doctor to save $1000 on the procedure. I wish I stuck with my gut and spent the extra grand.
The doctor and her assistant watched E! during the entire procedure. It was exactly 1 hour long, and the med assistant barely moved from her stool to come over and help the doctor. I was not comforted during or after the procedure. I wasn't even escorted down 2 flights of stairs. This doctor had terrible beside manners.
The problems I had about the surgery.
1. She didn't wait until the anesthesia was fully taken on. I was in severe pain during the surgery. I was shaking so bad from the pain I couldn't breath.
2. I told her I was in pain and she said "let me flip and do the other side then, and come back to this side."
3. She was watching TV, not paying any attention during the procedure and neither was her med asst.
4. She rushed the entire procedure. Not caring how much pain I was in. No attention to details.
5. My left side was the side in the most pain and completely covered in bruises from my ribs to my hip. It also has divots, and is not symetrical to the right side of my body. I have two different waist lines on each side. I will definitely look for another doctor to touch up my right side.
I am more upset on how the procedure was handle than how I look. I will be happy to share the doctors name via email, as I do not want anyone to every have to go through the pain I went through.
I just had smartlipo on Friday May 7th, lovehandles. I wish I had done more research on the doctor. I went with a Cheaper doctor, and like always you get what you pay for. The more expensive doctor had a list of recomendations and the cheaper doctor said their patients were not able to share their experience do to some FDA regulation. I should have taken that as a sign.
Unfortunately, I felt extreme pain through the entire procedure. I'm severly black and blue. The spent 1 hour exactly from walking in to walking out of the front door. Needless to say it was not a good job. You can see significant differences from my left side to my right side. She spent much more time on my left which was not the fatty side, and it shows. During the procedure they were watching E-Entertainment on TV! The Med Assistant was litterally sitting on the stool completely focused on the TV. I was in so much pain during the procedure that she said, "let me flip you to the other side so we can wait longer for the anethesia to set in on your left side". I was shaking from the pain of the procedure. When I walked out they did not say anything comforting, did not escort me down stairs, did not take more than their alloted hour for me to get me out the front door.
Unlike the other doctor who said to schedule at least 4 hours for this procedure.
It is now Tuesday May 10th, and I'm finally feeling like 75% to normal.
Again, I never ever post, but wanted to forwarn anyone interested in the procedure to really look into the doctors. Just because they post online doesn't mean you will have a great procedure.
