I had sculptra done in 3 installments several weeks apart. It definitely helped my sunken cheeks and the hollow temple area and mid face. It's very important that you go to a doctor who is skilled in sculptra and has done this procedure many times. the procedure is uncomfortable. No pain killers or numbing cream. Not necessary.
I just had my third treatment of Sculptra last night. I chose sculptra because my face is very drawn and thin. Especially the lower part of my face. I was told that other fillers cannot be used for hollow cheek bones and the lower part of the face.I also did the mid face and temples and around my chin. I am 53. I had my first injections on May 24th 2012, 2nd injuctions July 12, 2012 and my third session September 6, 2012. I did not have any pain killers as my Doctor told me the injections are very deep so numbing cream would not do any good. It really was not that painful. It was absolutely tolerable. I did use squeeze balls. After the first session I was bruised and swollern. I iced that night and of course did the 5x5x5. The outcome for me was small. As I said my face is very thin. After the 2nd session a month later I did see a little more results. I am going back to my doctor in December for the after pictures. She told me that I will continue to see improvements and that this should last for about 3 years. After that I would need 1 session as my face will continue to age. So far I have not had any lumps. I make sure I do the massage. I did alot of reasearch on sculptra before going forward. You have to make sure you have a very qualified Doctor doing this procedure on you. I took my own photos on the morning before each injection after a run when my face looks the guantest. I will post these along with my after photo after my final appointment in December. So far I am pleased withthe results. Still hoping for so more volume. I hope this is helpful for people thinking about doing this procedure. I did do Juvederm once in my lips and nasal folds. That hurt a lot worse then the sculptra.
I'm thinkg about getting Sculptra for sunken cheeks and chin area. Does anyone in the NYC area have any experience with this? I very confused from all the different postings and I don't want to do anything that will make thing
s worse.
