It's easy to say don't be ashamed of your scars, but the shame is difficult to overcome. I have scars from 8 years ago and I'm still embarrassed to this day. A couple of years ago I sought laser treatment but it was going to cost about 600 per session. I also went to a different cosmetic surgical and dermatological center to find out my options. The doctor laughed at me and said there is nothing I can do for you. He also said how bout just cut the other arm to make yours arms match. Yes this came from a medical professional, I wish i could say this is a lie. And I also wish I could find a treatment to reduce them that works. If anyone has had success I'd love to hear it.
I have white scars that were self inflicted about 6 years ago. I know that they are rather old, and I shouldn't have high expectations about treating them. I am mostly looking to not have them appear as self inflicted, because they are in straight consecutive lines on my forearm and thigh. They are not very raised or extremely white, just very obvious as to how they were done. What is a good treatment option for me? I've tried creams and oils, and I'm ready to move on to the next step.
