If you just had SL on 7/30 it may be too soon to judge your results I belive most doctors will tell you it takes at least 8 weeks to see a real difference. It's been over a year for me and I'm still working toward where I'd like to be. Best of luck!
I had SL done on my thighs over one year ago. They are slimmer, but the skin remains saggy, wrinkled, discolored and lumpy and I still have scar tissue and areas that remain numb. Post-op I experienced severe swelling, bruising, needle like jabbing pains, fluid filled sacks on my inner thighs and frequent fluctuations in body temp - this continued for several weeks. My thighs now have an unnatural scarred appearance and the transition from my thighs to lower legs is not attractive. My doctor performed a number of skin tightening procedures on me several weeks post-op, but I'm not sure they helped as much as we had both hoped they would. I work out regularly, eat right, drink lots of water and invested close to $10,000 for legs that would look nice enough to wear an above the knee skirt, shorts or a bathing suit. For me my investment has yet to pay off. If you are considering having SL done, please be aware that it is not the "back to work the next day" fix it is hyped up to be for everyone. For me there is work yet to be done and I don't think I will choose SL the next time.
I also had SL in the Houston area 10 months ago. After the procedure I had awful swelling, scarring, skin discoloration, numbness, hot needle pains, fluid filled pockets, lumps and loose skin. My doctor is still working with me to try to smooth out the lumps and tighten the loose skin. I did loose 14 lbs and look much better in jeans than I did, but no shorts for me yet. I am physically fit, work out several times a week, do weight training and dancing. Hopefully my wish to have legs that look good enough to wear shorts will come true before the summer this year!
After a full thigh job last year my thighs swelled up so much I was sure the skin would burst. I had numbness, hot knife like shooting pains, swelling, large fluid filled areas, areas that had the texture of leather and bruising ranging in shades of black, purple, green and yellow. After 9 months I am still working with my doctor trying to smooth out the remaining lumps and tighten loose skin. I still have a little scar tissue, skin discoloration and numbness. On the plus side I look pretty darn good in jeans, I lost apx. 14 lbs. and I don't have to shave my thighs anymore! So hang in there Adri. SL is definately not the quick fix and recovery claimed by many doctors, but you are early in your recovery so you may experience better results as time goes on. Good luck!
