I had them years and years ago when they first came out. It ended up being a nightmare and after two years and seven start over fittings there was nothing else they could do. But I was one of the first patients and my teeth are still noticeably straighter. Hopefully it has gotten better since then.To answer you question about the scratching, I quit brushing mine and started washing them with dial antibacterial soap and a wash cloth or my hands. They seemed to get cleaner that way and didn't get scratched. Don't drink anything but water with them. Anything dark will stain them and it's just gross to have liquid inbetween the trays and your teeth.
