Hi Suzanna. What skin complexion do you have, and what 's your age -if you allow me? I have olive skin color and suffer from severe, hereditary dark circles. I am 25 and my periorbital area is a bit hollowed too. I think the shade is caused mostly due to leaking blood from capillaries and resulting inflammation at the area. I made that conclusion because every morning, after I wake up, my eyes look good (yet not completely white). Therefore I'm planning to visit a good ophthalmoplastic surgeon and ask if V Beam may be used to burn some of the capillaries and reduce blood leaking (although it sounds like science fiction). I had also consulted a general plastic surgeon in the past and told me that fraxel may improve the discoloration a little bit, as it stimulates the biosynthesis of collagen that forms a thin layer to cover the darkness beneath. It also doesn't induce a lot of inflammation like peeling, which proved to have an adverse effect on people with darker skin.
Just for the record, I have also tried several eye creams in the past to treat dark circles (not puffiness). Right now I 'm using Hylexin, which I believe is a descent cream. Revitalume is also good. I can tell I've seen an improvement up to 30% with these products.
