I had Fraxel Repair done three years ago and I am so sorry I did, I have hypopigmentation on both sides of my face that I have to work HARD to cover with makeup. I also have spots of hypopigmentation on my cheeks. It did NOTHING for me! I was60 years old and I do not think any laser works on rejuvenating collagen espcially after 50. Dont forget infection is a real side effect. I did get an infection and it cause extra scarring... STAY AWAY FROM THIS LASER>
James,
My main goal with the Fraxel REPAIR was not my capillaries, but to address the collagen ..".or lack of "... and the overall texture/fine lines of my skin. Luckily, I did not have any pigment issues prior to REPAIR.
After Fraxel REPAIR,
my skin is blotchy... and I feel like I have uneven pigmentation due to the REPAIR procedure.
The Fraxel RESTORE does not address the above issues which is why I decided to go with the REPAIR.
I do not feel Fraxel REPAIR does what the company says it does. They mimimize the pain involved, the down time involved and the company maximizes the end results.
In my opinion, it is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and they should revise their "promised results"
.
Lori,
I just read your response to the Fraxel Repair and your disappointment..
I must agree with you.
I had mine on November 17,2008. My recuperation period was long... almost 4 weeks before I could put makeup on that would look acceptable.... I was very red!
Now that the swelling had gone down and the redness has subsided, I feel my skin looks like it did before the procedure.. if not worse.
My skin is blotchy.... and the imperfections that were present before REPAIR are returning.
ie broken blood vessels and 'fine wrinkles'.
Considering the cost and the down time of REPAIR, I would say it is NOT worth it. The results are so minimal.
Melanie,
Be careful of infection! I was on Keflex but still got an infection[ it was resistant to it] When I was put on Cipro, the infection cleared, but it had already done its damage. I am one month out and still have severe red and bumps where the infection was on my face. It really set me back on my recovery.
Good luck!
hi California CT,
Thanks for your insight regarding Keflex. Yes, Dr. did cultures..... for MARSA, Yeast, Herpes etc. The culture came back as a Enterbocater Cloacae. Are you familiar with it? You sound like you know quite a bit about infection/bacterias etc.
I looked it up online...Not sure how it showed up on my skin.. neither is the DR. It did not show up until Day 5. and I went to her on Day 1,3[ she said everythig looked fine those days] and then Day 7. So, by the time I got to her it had spread considerably. I was not sure what was going on, but I noticed it looked different than the other peeling skin,. I just wish she had caught it before it spread... on Day 3.
I will check the sunblock powder... I tried mineral makeup for the first time since I had the REPAIR [Nov 17] and it feels so dry and tight on my face. I have a function to go to tonight.. my real first 'public' outing, so I am hoping the lights will be very low!
Most of my red patches are where the infection was.. the rest of my face esp. the undereye are is more dark pink. I also had my neck done and it cleared up fine.
Let me know how you are doing....
I would send you photos if you were interested but I am not sure how to do it on this blog.
