Hi ... I just wanted to send you a delayed thank you for your reply. For some reason, I did not see the email for about two months but was still very appreciative when I did read it. At this time, I am doing great and enjoying actually feeling stomach muscles for the first time in 9 years ... pilates and yoga are way more fun. And, the fact that I look better is a great thing too. At this point, after all the pain, I would have to say that the procedure was worth it ... I wanted to make sure I posted that so that those who are afraid will know that even if your post-surgical experience is not optimal, it may still be worth the pain. Thanks again.

Thank you for your posts. I am interested in your recovery experience in the two-three weeks following the surgery. There are references in your post that indicate you had a difficult time. I am 10 days post-srugery and my husband and I have been very surprised by how very difficult this procedure has been for me. I experienced tremendous pain and nausea in the first 48 hours accompanied by breathing difficulties (related to my asthma). Walking was impossible and I could reach the bathroom only through my husband essentially carrying me. Five days after the surgery found me still unable to walk and in tremendous pain. My back felt like it was crumbling and my walking was limited to small trips to my kitchen (to prevent blots) using a walker or the arms of a relative to support me. Without the support, I would have crumbled to the ground. I am still sleeping in a medical recliner, with periodic back spasms, continuous but moderate discomfort in my abdomen and breast area and have only taken the binder off to allow my doctor's inspection of the area. I am doing EVERYTHING I have been instructed (including the breast massage to prevent cc) and yet I am (compared to most of the postings on this site) having a very difficult and slow recovery. I believe that my doctor has done a great job and everything visible seems to be healing. If I had the choice to do this over again, I am not certain I would say yes. I most certainly am no where near to going to get my mail much less doing laundry or contemplating going back to work. Would you mind sharing your experience during this same time period? I guess I am looking for encouragement from someone who has had a great result but had more then the usual amount of pain and discomfort during recovery. Thanks so much.

Who was your doctor? I am trying to select a provider and am confused as they all sound wonderful but that statistically just can't be true .... thanks.
