How on earth do you know PCarman's skin is not normal? Are you suddenly a doctor? You try to belittle PCarman for attempting to remove a birthmark. I cannot imagine what it must feel like to be born with a portwine stain on half of my face. After reading her post I actually bothered to read about portwine stains. You seem to want to slam her because she is proof that lasers work. I too wish she would post her pictures.
Here's a little bit of eduction for you.....
Early stains are usually flat and pink in appearance. As the child matures, the color may deepen to a dark red or purplish colour. In adulthood, thickening of the lesion or the development of small lumps occur. Lasers have made the biggest impact on treatment, because they are the sole method of destroying the cutaneous capillaries without significant damage to the overlying skin.
Your daughter and others who post here, including myself, were born with a normal face. For many reasons, we opted to have one or many cosmetic procedures that can have serious consequences if performed incorrectly.
Clane I am not going to be intimidated by you or anyone else because I am entitled to have a different opinion form yours.
I Fraxel treatments without a negative reaction and I want people who come to this site to get another opinion. It has been 2 years since my last Fraxel treatment and my results were positive.
I have not doubt that your daughter suffered from skin problems, but to now state that her death was a result of her laser treatment, I hope you have evidence to back this up.
I am though going to copy posts from this site and forward them to the host, Fraxel Manufacturer, and Dr. Hugo.
Carla are you a Doctor? How do you explain that this procedure has worked on thousands of people, and that only a small percentage of those treated have problems?
So glad to read someone else who thinks these women are trying to intimidate anyone who posts of a positive result with the Fraxel laser.
I've read many of the posts here and I have to wonder if some of the damage wasn't self inflicted. Angie had been subjecting herself to some form of cometic procedure for at least 9 years prior to her Fraxel treatment. She paid $900 for her treatment in the Washington DC area, so I have to question the qualifications of the person who treated her because in the cost for a qualified practitioner in the DC area is about $1,700 per treatment. I wouldn't be surprised if a combination of an unqualified laser tech, Fraxel, plus all the other cosmetic procedures she had caused her problems.
I think that I am also take some of these posts and forward them to the Laser Manufacturers and leading Laser Doctors, to see what they have to say.
Do you own or host this site? Are you the only ones who can express opinions? There are thousands upon thousands of people like me, who have had great results with this laser and this doesn't make me an insensitive or bad person.
