    can old scars from cutting be removed or made less noticeable? As a teenager, I self-mutilated on my arms (I am in my mid-20's now). I now have thin, raised scars that are the same pigment as my skin tone.

    I've tried using Mederma off and on for about 6 months and haven't seen much improvement. Thankfully, I don't have lasting psychological issues, but I feel uncomfortable when people notice the scars and would love them to be less visible.
