Hi Lori,
I wouldn't expect the product to dissolve but maybe there is still some scar tissue around the Artefill that could be further reduced with Kenalog. Also, any chance of adding filler around the Artefill to better blend the lumpy areas?

I haven't found a doctor able to do 40mg cortisone without causing atrophy yet and I’ve offered Dr L’s technique to help them understand how to do the injection. The doctors don’t seem to understand his swiss cheese technique and keeping the cortisone within the nodule. TJ is a long way for me to go for the cortisone injections because I get them once a month but if Dr Casavantes was a little closer to me, he’d be top of my list.
Hi Fullofplastic,
Smart move, having your lump injected right away. Was the lump also red, itchy, painful or was it just an enlarged area?
Very interesting point that you make related to the nodules. That being the case, all of my lumps are granulomas as they started to sprout about a year after the last round of PMMA injections. Interestingly, I only had lumps under my eyes originally but then I had full face fat grafting to try and camouflage them and shortly after that, I started developing lumps in every area PMMA was ever injected, it occurred one area at a time. I’ve often wondered if the fat injections all around the PMMA caused the inflammation, it seems logical to me. I also had Bio-Alcamid (most has been removed by Dr Hoenig) so not sure how much that contributed to my problem.
I spent a good deal of time looking for a doctor to confirm whether my lumps were nodules or granuloma but I subsequently learned the treatment protocol is basically the same (granulomas may require higher dose cortisone). Some of my lumps have responded to 10 mg cortisone with 5FU but others have required 40 mg. 40mg is just not worth it-wicked side effects, zero side effects for me with 10mg so likely you won't have any problems.

Check out Dr Samuel Lam in Plano, he's supposed to be great with lips.

Can I ask who did your PMMA injections?
