Sorry for the late reply! Life has been busy with other pressing issues as of late; I had 2 done last December and one in February; I just had a fourth one last month and I'd say the results are still worth it in my situation. Atrophic scars are not my biggest issue, I still want to improve them, but hypertrophic/hypopigmentation still remains my main problem. As far as long-term damage, it's around month five and I still think it's still a positive move, but I don't know, there are a lot of factors involved with how Fraxel will improve your overall skin--pre/post-op care, diet/lifestyle, genetics, luck, etc. Good luck to you too;

Usually they will recommend you to pretreat your skin with Hydroquinone or Retin-A to reduce the possibility of pigmentation complications. This is especially so with dark skin, but still applicable with lighter toned skin. Regardless, I recommend using Retin-A in conjunction with any type of skin remodeling procedure. Studies show that it will improve the scar improvement and decrease erythema and other issues.
