I had a face and neck lift and upper bleh. I am a slow healer and it was a year before the swelling along my jowl line resolved itself. Until then, I felt like the jowl area was not as taut as I wanted but after the swelling subsided it looks just fine. You may be a slow healer as well. It takes a lot more time than they lead you to believe. Just take a deep breath and let your body heal for at least a year. If at that time you want revision, then go for it. These doctors are not perfect and we will never look like we did in our 20's or 30's. Hope things get better for you with time.
I am 8 weeks out and still have some bruising but most of the swelling has gone down on my face and neck.
I'm not sure what you mean by "duck face" unless you are refering to the after effects of the dermabrasion which I did not have. I never felt that my face was "unusual" looking except for the swelling. I had more problems with the neck area than the face lift but it is resolving now.
Time will be your friend. If you chose a reputable surgeon then you need to remember why you chose him. I have had to tell myself several times that I need to have confidence in my surgeon and that has helped. It will be 6 months to one year before you see the final result but I understand at 3 months it is much better!!
Good luck!
Hello,
I just want to encourage you because I had surgery on March 22 and have had a difficult time. Anyone who says you are back to work in two weeks is either a very, very fast healer or is exaggerating! I am going on my 5th week and my bruises are just now fading. Also, I am having an issue with my neck (I had a submentoplasty also) and have irritation on both sides of my neck. It is very red and angry looking. I think whoever said it would be 6 months before you know the end result gave the best advice. Anyway, I have decided that this was MY choice and I will live with however it ends up. I can say that the swelling is better and I think all will be okay or at least better in the end.
Just give it more time than 3 weeks before you give in to despair. It should get better every week.
I too have had a necklift procedure. Did you have any point in the healing process where your neck had an odd texture? I'm only 14 days out and I think maybe it is the bruising that is emphasizing the texture that was always there. It is a little leathery looking.
