I just got Radiesse injected and as always, I look "blown up" just as this Real Self member describes. My provider mixes the Radiesse with Xylocaine, although I'm not sure how much she uses, and she informed me this last time that the Xylocaine is the reason that I swell. Next time, I'm ABSOLUTELY going to ask for some other numbing agent or no numbing at all. I seriously have no touble with a bit of pain at the time of injection. I suffer from terrible swelling and a dull pain for a week after injection when she uses Xylocaine. I'm currently hiding from the world because I look like an inflated balloon. :(
I have been exercising with FlexEffect for two months now and love the program. I'm 29 and much of what I'm hoping to accomplish is preventative, but the few wrinkles I did have are gone. They were very superficial and were not fillable via Juvederm or Restylane. I'm hoping for a bit more lift to my cheeks and lower face and just overall tightness and tone over the next few months.
In addition to the standard resistance exercises, the latest edition of FlexEffect also has two other techniques. One is meant to remodel bone and the other is meant to rejuvenate the skin through cross-stretching. I haven't seriously started either one of these techniques so I can't speak to their efficacy personally, though. Still - I'm going to try at some point. It's just difficult to find the time to fit in 20-30 minutes of exercise + additional time for these techniques. I was already getting up at 5:30am on workdays to go for my morning run, but now I set my alarm one half hour earlier so that I can workout my face, too!
One more comment regarding FlexEffect in particular - it has an absolutely AWESOME forum with dedicated moderators ready to answer all your questions almost immediately and very thoroughly. No, I have no affiliation with the company. I just think they have a great product and terrific customer service and support.
