I did use the baking soda when I had swelling and it worked for me but everyone is different. You never know, your swelling might be caused by something else. I'm pretty sure mine was caused by all the pressing and massaging the doctor did to try to get the lumps out, which he never accomplished. I think if I were you I'd use the baking soda right away to try to get rid of it while it's still fresh. Maybe it can penetrate the needle holes used to inject the juve. Probably not at this point, but I know how desperate you may feel -- I was so freaked out with my juve results. If you think the baking soda is causing the swelling, then give it a rest and try again when your lips calm down a bit. If you think it is because of the actual injections and the massaging, do the baking soda thing now.

I didn't have the juve put in my lips, he actually injected it above my lips in that area to try to smooth out lines between my nose and mouth, but it gave me that duck bill look which was horrid. The baking soda definitely worked for me. Keep trying the paste inside your mouth as on or as close to all your bumps for about a 30 minutes at a time. Reapply it if it melts away, as that what it tends to do. Try to keep it up for 30 minutes and do it every day for about a week I know it tastes terrible but it's worth a shot. Good luck.

I noticed results in my mouth area pretty quickly, like three days. As I stated in my post, I think it worked for me because the quack who injected the Juve injected it so deep that the bulk of it was closer to the inside of my mouth than the outer skin area. I had huge bumps and bulges all over that I could really feel inside my mouth area. I don't think the baking soda can penetrate the skin on the outside as well because it did not work on my eye area where he also did a little bit of injection. I can now (and it has been a few years) say that I have no lasting problems. The juve in my eye area went away totally within about six months. Hopefully, even if you can't fix it right now, it will go away within a matter of months and won't have any lasting effects. So sorry . . . good luck!

Glad it seemed to help. When I tried massaging my lumps I think I made my face more swollen. I was so glad the baking soda worked for me though as I couldn't stand looking at myself in the mirror. The lumps under my eyes eventually did go away but it took about five months or so, thank goodness it didn't leave any lasting sagging skin. I would love it if something was developed for the lines above the mouth. I really don't know why anyone would use Juvederm for this area as I can spot Juvey lips a mile away and they look ridiculous.
