Radiesse is not allergy tested. There is a process called sensitization. This is where you develop an allergy to the product. I had it injected twice, and this is what happened to me. First, chronic sinusitis. I did not know it was the product. Second time I had radiesse my left eyelid drooped, face swoll, left maxillary sinus filled w/mucosa thickening. I have nerve damage, inflammatory damage, vascular damage. It went systemic and I now have an autoimmune disease in addition to asthma. I have a thyroid nodule as a result, and was just biopsied yesterday for cancer. I am 35, and was perfectly healthy until radiesse was injected. the only recourse is a class action lawsuit. That is per the FDA. You must report your findings to the FDA, or there has to be a class action lawsuit in order to stop it. My neurologist says that it is similar to silicosis.
I had radiesse injected in june of 2008, and approximately 9 months prior. i kept getting sinus infections. they placed it in my nasolabial folds as well as underneath the eye. the second time i had it injected the left side of my face swoll, my left eye drooped, and i had respiratory problems...dropping my o2 sat to 92 percent. the doctors determined that i became sensitized (developed an allergy), and had the most severe allergic reaction possible. i now have an autoimmune disease, i am allergic to everything, i have asthma now, and i just had a biopsy of a nodule that formed after the radiesse injection. i have nerve and vascular damage along w/inflammatory disease. benadryl works because it's an antihistamine, and allergens produce histamine, thus inflammatory process.
