So sorry for the results so many people are having with Fraxel. I want to say Thank you for being honest with your posts and letting others know that this procedure does not ALWAYS work for the better. Obviously my Daughter Angela Walker was burned and scarred and lost the form of her face (fat loss) for two years she cried, prayed, beat herself up mentally for what she felt was her own self destruction. I feel your pain when you say you are depressed and don't want anyone to see you. She completely isolated herself from friends and family for two years. One day she went to her bedroom and would not leave it...... stopped eating and would not let ANYONE see her. She would pretend to be asleep if you entered the room or put the covers over her head. She kept the lights and the sun out of her room and remained in a dark room. Some days I would go to her house and go up to her room and just lay beside her and cry with her. So when I see or hear of another person damaged from these machines I just feel the pain of when she was hurting. The sad part is that she thought it had worked for her also, but as tme progressed her face continued to deteriate. My sweet Daughter spent thousands of dollars and hours researching and going to Drs. to see what could be done. The Doctors were totally perplexed and said they had no idea of what to do for her. They blew her off and made her feel like a quack. She would come home crying and say Mom, they think I am overreacting and that I am a kook. The Doctor that did this to her face would not even see her. She followed all Doctors orders and bought all the meds creams ,ointments, lotions, derma rollers, facial stimulation mask. She went to the end of earth to try and repair her face. Finally she gave up..... well she didn't give up. On October 16,2009 on a Friday evening she died. 39 years young and gone. Was it the Fraxel ? The autopsy reads aneurysm, but in my opinion I think the stress and the pain of her lonely isolation killed her LONG before the aneurysm. I will ALWAYS believe Fraxel and her death are somehow related. She was a perfect healthy 36/37 year old when she had this procedure done. She had a very active social life, had done some modeling when she was younger......stayed involved in her nephews ( who she was raising after his Mother passed away with cancer) soccer and school activities. Loved playing polo and horses. Lived a clean life...just a good loving young woman and my best friend. So as I post this I can only hope that when one reads this they will have a moment of doubt about HOW IMPORTANT is this procedure to you? Is it worth the RISK? Are you willing to not only put yourself through the torment of WHAT IF but also your family. Her Mother, Father, Son (nephew) Fiancee, Brother and many cherished friends walked this path with her and I must say it was the worst two years of my life. Mothers are suppose to take care of there children, fix there hurts and when you watch them suffer and you are helpless to help them, this becomes your HELL also. Life is about your soul and character and I just cringe at the thought that ANYONE will sacrifice quality life for a quick fix procedure. For the ones damaged please KNOW your feelings are validated as I KNOW what you feel and I will PRAY this madness stops before more are injured!
Sincerely,
Cherry Lane

NO! I am not taking my OWN bad experience and turning it into negatives for the whole field....obviously I have STATED plastic surgery and modern technology is GREAT in many case's. The only valid point I am TRYING to get across is that results for ALL is not always positive. I suppose we both have our own opinions on this subject.... does not make one right or one wrong. It does make it available to the GQ public that one size does not fit all! I don't feel that one person can tell everybody to do what YOU seem to think they want to do.... based on your experience. These treatments just like any other medical procedures for enhancement or correction and must be sold to the patient...... literature in every office showing a positive outcome in all brochures. The doctors (some) will tell you there is a small risk..... but never do they say...OH by the way you may be permanently disfigured or scarred or subject your immune system to infection by doing this quick little touch up or pick up. They sell you on the idea that you are perfecting a percieved flaw or changing something you may feel uncomfortable about. Insurance will not cover these procedures ......WHY.... too much risk? Spend your own money to.be at risk........insurance wants no part of the plan.
As a Mother if I KNEW the risk involved in ANY medical procedure I would have to weigh the need for this against the risk. I look at my daughters beautiful unmarred skin and still can't imagine WHAT kind of Doctor would even start or recommend any laser for her. Her skin was flawless...... but she was told this would prevent her aging and even out her skin tone. It did just the opposite and destryoed her skin ...her....pysche.... immune system and her future. One can argue..... oh it was only one person.... that is not that great of a risk. Well to each there own...... her son is Motherless and we lost a very good person in this world. I recieve many letters and posts from others who are feeling hopeless in getting repaired and want it all just to go away. There is no quick resolution to beauty or health or self image. I run two miles a day and it makes me feel 100% better about myself..... I write everyday and I meditate everyday..... feels great. I also do work for charities and do random acts of kindness whenever possible and it makes me feel 150% better about myself. Life is not about ME ME ME ...how I look ...It is about what you give to others and how you enjoy and live life to its fullest and not everyone feels they need a facelift / fraxel/laser/othet cosmetic enhancement to make one feel whole or complete..... this must come from within your soul...... the packaging is only temporary. I pray things continue to work to your advantage with your quest to be 100%. But..... also understand that some young girls are reading these posts and looking for advice and WHAT works for you may not work for them. I feel education is of the utmost importance in the teaching of youth to better there self image. I feel that youth and beauty is NOT what REAL people seek..... truth and honor and success is what people seek. These virtues are part of evolution also and anyone who turns AWAY from an unttractive person....JUST because they are just unttaractive without getting to KNOW the person.....Well to me it only makes THEM ( the rejector) the unattractive one. You can stack it up and pack it up until you are 80...... but aging is part of life you will turn eighty and unless you want to fix every....spot ...wrinkle or dot... time will tell.....if one lives that long. Good Luck and God Bless well wishes for you and your health always.
