After much debate, indecision and research, I finally went for my 1st Botox (forehead) and Radiesse (under eyes) injections yesterday. I'm getting married in July and really want to look my best. I'm 36 and most days walk around looking so tired with dark cirlces under my eyes no matter how much sleep I get. I just was tired of looking tired all of the time!
I have to admit, I'm always one to research anything and everything before I make a decision, so I was so thankful to find this message board. Many of the reviews about Radiesse on this board scared the pants off of me! But I decided to trust in my Doctor anyway and went for it.
I'm happy to say that I had a very positive experience and just wanted to be able to post something positive on this product here in case anyone else like me is looking for some good feedback. Granted it has only been 1 day, but I feel good about the experience so far!
My biggest complaint was my dark circles. I used to be near tears anytime I passed a mirror in a department store because I didn't recognize the person staring back at me. All I saw were the bags and circles! That's not how I felt on the inside.
If there is one thing I've learned is that much of your results are so dependent upon your injector. I went to a double-board certified plastic surgeon who was wonderful and very reassuring that I would be happy with the results. He actually did the injections through my mouth (which I was not at all prepared for and hurt like hell), but this supposedly decreases the chances of bruising. I was very lucky as I did not bruise at all. I was a bit swollen and sore, however, ice-packs helped with that and I'm back at work today.
The pain was over quickly enough and the results are well worth it! Now I can't stop looking in the mirror because I can't believe the results! I feel as though I may need to go back in a week or so for a "touch up" just to fine-tune everything but, overall am very pleased. I just hope it lasts as long as it's supposed to!
