did you exercise? I made the mistake of exercising after a stronger peel- it caused hyper pigmentation as the sweat forced the peeling process. I don't exercise now after any procedure until the skin is back to normal.
I've had a TCA peel professionally 5 years ago and 2 ViPeels professionally over the last year. I purchased a peel online as well and did it myself- if you're familiar with peels it is very easy I thought. There are video instructions online. There is downtime though-
I recently had the peel applied by a licensed professional, and although my skin was not as discolored as described here, the entire process has been EXACTLY as described in the above post. (And I have had 2 TCA peels over the last ten years so I have experienced more severe chemical peels, therefore, I am not over dramatizing.)
Bottom line- I found the application as the literature promised and not at all unpleasant- except for the smell. But the healing is not as described in the literature so this post is extremely useful when planning for work and subsequent activities. I looked extremely sun burnt the day I had the peel applied and went to work the following day, but the peeling process was MUCH longer and more difficult to hide than described in all literature- I could not go in to work day 3-6 due to extreme flaking and discoloration of skin. Ultimately, I also agree with this post that it is worth it, particularly compared to a deeper peel.
