Here's a test: how many machines are run by "spas", Chiropractors, other "alternative medicine" sites. And how many are run by MD/DO operators? That's a good indicator of hookum.
My Internist broke out laughing when I told him what I'd done.
"First, McKinney, Texas (Zerona's home) is not a hotbed of cutting-edge medical devices."
Claims were wildly over-stated, even fraudulent. Before I bought I was told that I'd lose 8-12 inches from my stomach. I was TOLD that. I relied on that, pulled my thinner clothes from the closet. When nothing happened, I was told that 8-12 inches was the total that would be lost from my chest, arms, legs, etc. And, maybe, if I was lucky, an inch from my stomach.
HCG may be hokum, I've lost 25 pounds in under a month. I'm wearing those thinner clothes.
A bottle of HCG from Amazon is under $20. Stick to the diet, you won't be hungry, you'll lose 1.5 to 2.5 pounds A DAY!
(I have no financial interest in HCG, it's worked for me.)
Here's a draft of my Demand Letter.
I came to your clinic after a couple days research into the Zerona laser treatment you advertise.
I consider myself a sophisticated consumer. I told your sales persons I needed to lose weight in my stomach, that I’d previously been told I should have a ‘tummy tuck.’ The information I was given by your sales persons led me to believe I would experience, on average, a minimum six inch reduction in my waist, with a weight reduction of up to twelve pounds. Based on those representations I paid you $1,980 and began treatments immediately on Thursday, November 5th. I expressed concern that, because of wardrobe issues, I didn’t want to lose more than six inches in my waist. I was told that was reasonable. That is confirmation of what I thought, based on what I’d been told by your staff.
I expressed concern that your treatments were an updated version of the ‘wrapping you in plastic wrap and turning up the heat’ from the 1980’s. I was assured it wasn’t, that it was medically sound and I could rely on it to reduce my waist and lose weight.
While waiting for the third treatment on Wednesday, November 11th, I accidentally saw what apparently is your sales flip-chart. It had not previously been shown to me. That was the first time I learned of the fine print: the loss of inches is measured over the entire body, not the waist. The loss in the waist is often one inch. Had I been told that, had I been shown that chart, I’d never have contracted with you.
I was told on there’s often results after the first couple treatments. There weren’t. I was then told there’s often results by the end of the treatments. There weren’t. I was told Monday it takes a week to two weeks to see any results.
Prior to each treatment I told your staff that there’d been absolutely no results. I was told on Monday, November 16, that “there often isn’t any weight loss.”
I have adapted my life to comply with your suggestions. I’m riding my exercise bike at least 40 minutes a day. I’m consuming eight to ten 33 ounce bottles of cold water. I’m adding a bit of Lasix. I’ve cut my intake of fat to under 50 grams a day. I’m massaging my flab. I’m taking your vitamins. I’ve had absolutely no results. My guess is you’ll trot out the excuse that I’m obese, your device won’t work on the obese. If you believe that’s true, you should have told me that and never taken my money.
Here’s my bottom line. You’ve made an utter fool of me. You’ve wasted at last a dozen hours of my time, time I could have sold to a client.
I expect your check in my hands on or before . I’m not interested in talking to you. Believe me, you don’t want to talk to me.
Here's what's hidden in the fine print. The promises you get of losing 8, 10, 12 inches ... that's collectively from every part of your body. As in an inch from your arm, an inch from your thigh, a half inch from your stomach. I an 5 treatments into the program, I asked when I'd see the six inches melt away from my waist. "Uh, a week to two weeks after you finish."
Somebody's gonna sue. It might be me!
