I'm so sorry to hear you're having difficulties. What does your stomach feel like - it is squishy or does it feel like there's a water balloon inside? I did not have much swelling with mine thank goodness, but my PS warned me that the fluid sacs were a fairly common concern and often only go away if they've been drained. Also, I did sleep with my feet elevated above my heart and took water pills for a few days on my PS's advice, but again my swelling was minimal. Hang in there and keep us posted.
Multiplemom - I wondered if the "multiple" referred to twins or triplets! How old are your twins?? Does your PS know what is going on with your hips? Is it fluid or swelling? Fixing it with a local does sound brutal, although I read somewhere that there is often less pain and swelling with lipo done with a local. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that this works out for you. You're a better woman than I am!!
Wow - I'm so sorry that you've had such an awful experience. I sometimes get massages at a local "medical" spa that also advertises the Lifestyle Lift, and first thing tomorrow I'm cancelling all my future appointments. I don't want anything to do with an establishment that offers this procedure!
multiplemom- I can't tell you how many times I have thought of you since reading your post! I can't imagine being in as much pain as I've been in AND being dissatisfied with the results - I really feel for you. I'm very lucky - it does look like my results are going to be good and I haven't had much swelling at all since week 3. It looks like we are very similar in size (I'm 5'6" 130 lbs) and I wasn't looking to go down any, but had some random fat on my lower abdomen after several abdominal surgeries dating back to my teens. My doctor suggested the lipo for "optimal contouring" and I have to say I regret that part of it. I was 7 weeks yesterday and the nerve pain seems to be getting better, but now I have what feels like a horrible backache in my lower back. It helps to wear my compression garment, but this does have me freaked out. I've never had back pain, even when I carried twins. I did get breast implants, but just went to a full B/small C, which is the size I was before breastfeeding 3 children (I like to think it was re-constructive in nature :)). Anyway, please keep me posted on what the new PS has to say. And thank you for sharing your experience - it has really, really, really helped me.
Targatina - I'm 7 weeks post-op today and the pain is getting better. It's mostly just extremely sensitive now. There is a spot on my upper left flank that is still particularly painful and still looks a bit swollen. I went back to my doctor this past week and he ruled out an infection or other serious cause, so I guess now it's just a waiting game to see when that resolves. Best of luck to you!!
