A couple of things to remember.... The people that are telling us all that implants are safe are playing the numbers game. You sell x amount of implants. Most of them become a problem to the implantee. Some of those people will even die. The manufactures have to pay off law suits. The bottom line is this, it is worth it to the manufactures because they still make those almighty dollars and plenty of them. They have no concern for our lives, our health, or our quality of life, only the profit they show when it is all said and done. Think about this, the doctors that tell us they are safe are out of business with no plastic to implant.
The second thing to think about BEFORE you get implants is this... you are getting the implants to increase your bust size. When you have to have your implants removed, (and you will), not only will you be all streatched out, you will loose some of the breast tissue you had in the first place. You will be smaller than you were when you started out!
I don't know why no one is talking about a thing called foreign body reaction. This is a normal function of the body. This is what causes ALL implants to rupture (shread!) It is going to happen at some time after you are implanted. There is no way to stop it. It is caused from calcification of the capsule. This calcification is sharp crystals formed around the implant. Talk to your doctors about this natural body function. Make them tell you the truth. It is not a matter of if your implants will rupture or leak, it is a matter of WHEN!
Is your health, quality of life, social life, working life, and every other aspect of your life worth the sacrafice?
I have been disabled since 1994 because of breast implants. I have been unable to work since that time. I was only 48 years old. My life ended for me when I was so young. This is only a very short list of the things that has happened to me because of breast implants. I could write page after page. Do your thinking before, not after implant surgery!
I had silicone implants for 23 years. I got sicker and sicker as I went along. For so many years no one knew what was happening to me. Finally they removed my severely ruptured implants that were nearly empty sacks of gooey slop! They nearly killed me! I had silicone in my brain, under my arms, ooze from my tear ducts in my eyes, between my toes, and the pores of my skin. It was in my lungs, (and still is). Don't forget other problems like heavy metals as well as the toxic chemicals used to process the silicone into gel.
Not everyone has this problem. It is sort of like Russian roulette. Some people are allergic to silicone and the other chemicals and some are not. You should be tested before you go through with the surgery. Saline is worse and presents a whole new set of problems.
Good luck and best wishes. I was very happy with my new look until I got so Ill. I ended up in a wheel chair part time and a cane full time as well as other issues such as breathing problems. No I did not smoke.
