I am glad I decided against the LSL with these quacks. sorry pinkberry that you had a bad experience. I still want to get a face lift but remain afraid of the length of time a person has to be under the knife (with anesthesia); I was told by one plastic surgeon that it would be 5 hours.
In 2004 I went to a LSL office in Troy, Mi.after seeing some ladies on one of our news stations in this area who had the procedure; supposedly it would take an hour, no general anesthesia. I went for a consultat LSL and was seen by a young woman and thought okay, I will do this; i put down half the money and scheduled the procedure; however, I was put off by the fact that no surgeon ahd seen me and evaluated what I would need done and talk to me about potential complications; Icalled to schedule an appointment to meet with a SURGEON so I could have that one on one discussion about the proposed procedure. Well, this doc walks in, well, he never walked in the room; he stood at the door and never really looked at my face to tell me what they were going to do, what my specific needs were and he never mentioned potential complications until i asked; needless to say I was turned off and cancelled my appt and got my money back. To date, I have not had a facelift because I am afraid of being under general anesthesia for five hours. I look at those TV commercials wistfully but I honestly don't think this is a reliable business.
Hi Nora: in order to have a medical malpractice case you have to prove the standard of care was breached; there are many poor outcomes in medicine but most do not reflect negligence. I work for a plaintiff attorney and have been involved in medical malpractice for 30 years; we have never taken a cosmetic surgery case that didnt' turn out well; they are very difficult cases in which to be successful; that said you certainly could go to a personal injury attorney that specializes in medical malpractice, have them look at your medical records (surgical records) to see if your surery was done within the standard of practice. Good luck to you.
Several years ago i was going to get the LSL; i went to the facility in Troy, Michigan and put down a deposit; however, i was taken aback that not one person suggested i meet with one of their surgeons prior to the proposed surgery so that I could be evaluated personally;I called and set up and appointment to discuss the risks, etc. Well, this doc met with me for less than five minutes; i was sitting down in a chair in a room; he came to the doorway, never came in the room; I asked him some questions about risks and that that took less than five minutes; he never looked at my face or evaluated what my needs would be personally; i got my refund back without any problems; i would never go back.
