  • Posted to If you're getting your implants removed in April, May, or June 2013, please check in here! on 3 May 2013

Hi Sportsmom: Well, I can't comment on the procedure since I did have mine by general ( also, had CC close to a 3!); however, I did have my dreaded implants for 21years and had them removed 3 weeks ago( no lift). I'm huge into working out and still haven't been able to go to the gym yet. Instead, I have been going for hour walks. Still sore but you may find that your breasts have changed since implants. I was convinced my breasts would be like fried eggs and down to my knees but I have been pleasantly surprise that even though small, still quite perky. Your breast change and your ultimate result may be welcomed. Furthermore, being implant-free is so much better than fake boobs. Best of luck.

Thank-you for all your lovely comments. I feel like I look smaller than at 8 days but I am "boob-obsessed" - is that normal? Is that a wave? Bruising? I have to remember my poor little breasts have been through so much. I appreciate all the comments about "pings". - it's not just me. Very reassuring. I guess the body is healing. I know my picture with implants is just as awful as it looks. Believe me, gals, it felt worse. Hard lumps that prevented me to feel like I would want to hug anyone. Makes me sad that more awareness is not given before a woman makes a decision for implants or not. They do not last forever. They can get hard. The can pose health risks...

Thank you for your kind words. I will be saying a prayer for you on the 26th. You are nearly at the finishing line. You will be so relieved when you have these things out.

It's a dirty secret - I know what you mean. I never wanted anyone to hug too tight since these "hard bags" felt so obvious. With my implants, for the last 10 months, I was wearing firm camisoles to actually look flatter since they were just o obvious. Your day is nearly here. I will be sending positive thoughts your way. will you be taking arnica pills? i started taking them a few days before and a week after -I think it did help with the swelling. Good thought for a fast and speedy recovery.

Thank-you everyone for all your kind comments. Before surgery, I was a mess ( just ask " nervous girlie), crying, not eating, not sleeping. I was scared. Full stop. Some many unknowns - will I make it though the general? Will I have complications? Will I be deformed with more surgery. It's scary - no doubt. I just want to tell all those women getting ready for explant surgery, yes, it's scary but you are embarking on a life without fake hard implants. You will feel so much more complete when it's done. Trust me, I have just done it and life is much more real and uncomplicated. Thank you for this site. Women are wonderful and supportive and draw on that strength is comforting. Sometimes we are so busy with life we don't tap into this energy. It has been a Godsend. Thank-you, again for your kind words. It has really helped with this journey.
