I am an esthetician and I have been micorderm treatments for a long time and from what I read i agree you should have done some chemical peels. What you could have done is a medium chemical peel and then for maintenance and more results do the microderm. you should have been perscribed what was best for your skin and normallk estheticians would be able to tell you what would be more result oriented then a nurse. also, whatever you were doing at home may have caused slower results. Preventing sun damage and all that.
could have been because your used murads spot treatment, that has sulfer in it. person doing treatment should have asked if you were using any products such as this first, if you have only got the micro you probably would have been fine but the enzyme peel probably peeled you too much and was too much in combo with spot treatment product
certain lasers are not good for any skin type. ND-Yag lasers are good for any skin type but the right settings must be used. cooling gel and cool air are supposed to be used to keep the skin cool. the energy going into your tissue may have been too much and too fast. this will cause burns!
I am am Esthetician and your skin should not have had this reaction. Glycolic peels are considered a light peel and they should only cause mild dryness or flaking if that. If it was a moistened towelette there should have only been ONE pass and only left on for 1-5 minutes depending on your tolerence. same thing if it was brushed on your face. Also if you were using any retin a or alpha hydroxy acids, or anything that causes peeling, on a regular basis you should not do any peel before stopping the retin a a few days beforehand.
