  • Posted to SmartXide - Dot Therapy Experience? on 28 Mar 2009

I had my DOT on February 2 and had the same concern as I truly couldn't see any change. However, I went to my esthetician today for the first time since before the procedure and she immediately commented on how great my skin looked. I've gone to her for 10 years so she knows my skin better than I do. She said the texture was much smoother, especially around my mouth. So...I feel better now because I also felt like I had wasted a lot of money. I do wish I could see more improvement in the wrinkles and age spots but they do say it can be anywhere from 3-6 months so I will try to be more patient in waiting for the results. Also, as far as cream for right after the treatment, I bought very expensive cream but found that Neutragena light night cream worked the best. I was advised against Aquaphor because it's petroleum based but I have to admit I did use Vaseline when my skin was extremely dry because it didn't seem anything would keep it moist.

Allison, when did you have your second treatment and how much improvement have you noticed? What has been the most beneficial result?

I had the SmartXide on February 2. I am 52 and wanted it to improve skin texture, appearance, and tightening. It was very painful but I wonder if they didn't put enough numbing cream on as I, prior to this experience, prided myself on my high pain tolerance. They also gave me one pain pill and a valium prior to the procedure. It is Day 3 and my skin is extremely red and dry. Although they instruct you to not let the skin dry, I have put moisterizer on continually but it is still very dry and feels like sand paper. I also have white blotchy spots on my neck and some on my face. Not sure if any of this is normal or not. I can not visually see any "dots" unless I use a magnifying glass. Any input and/or suggestion for type of cream to use?
