Well I guess the cost depends on where you live. Most of the plastic surgeons who have experience in tattoo removal I have consulted with here in Hawaii charge that much to remove my tattoos so no, I don't feel like I got ripped off. I'm just glad the ugly tattoos are gone for good.

    ggggggg,

The skin flaked off on mine about 4-5 days after each session. It's normal for it to slough off during face washing or showering. The new skin will be reddish/pink or in my case, slightly purple/pink. My doc told me never to force the skin off as it may cause scarring. Just let it peel on its own. Also after the skin peels off, it's important to apply something on the new skin. SY214's suggestion of vit E oil is a good one too. I was also told to apply sunscreen on the new skin to prevent discoloration.

The red/pink color is not scarring. It's just post inflammatory pigmentation and it will eventually go away. I do not have any scarring whatsoever but the treated areas are now a bit lighter than the surrounding untreated skin. It's not noticeable at all and people wouldn't be able to tell. I'm the only person who notices it and even then, only when I look very closely. All in all, the treatment was one of the best things I have done for myself. I have my old brows back and boy, it looks a million times better than the tattoos.

    Hi ggggggg,

Yes mine turned a different shade. The tattoos were originally gray/black and after the first session, it turned somewhat purple (lol). I think it was a combination of redness and scabbing that turned them purple. After about a week, the scabs fell off and the color became much lighter and a lot less purple. At this stage, the color change was easily camouflaged by brown eyebrow pencil. I also wore sunglasses frequently during that stage when going out. I was actually happy to see this color change even though it was a weird color. This tells me that the laser is doing its job.

Hang in there. I know it's a pain to go through the repeated healing process but in the end, it's all worth it.

    Hi ggggggg,

The brow hairs turning white and the swelling are common side effects of the laser treatment and should disappear in a few days. I used Aquaphor ointment on the treated areas to facilitate healing and it really helped with the redness. You can also apply ice on the areas for the swelling.

It's been about almost 3 yrs since I had my last treatment and my brows are back to their original appearance pre-tattoo. All the hairs grew back in and best of all, there is no trace of ink whatsoever. People who knew me pre-tattoo/pre-laser wouldn't even be able to tell that I went through the whole ordeal of removing the tattoos. My brows were thick and dark before I had the tattoo and laser and now they are back to being thick and dark so I'm sure yours will turn out the same.

I realize this topic is a yr old but I have the same exact problem right now. I just went in 3 days ago for restylane in lips. This was the 3rd time I went in for this type of procedure. The first two times were great. I went to the same ps I had been going to. This time however, my lips are a bit lopsided. Most of the swelling has gone down so I know it's not the swelling. My right lip droops down a bit lower than the left and my smile is crooked. I'm going to wait for 2 wks to make sure all the swelling is gone before going back. I guess this is a common problem.
