I went to Dr. Ciaravino for reduction in breast size/smaller implants. I couldn't have been clearer. I did not end up with what I asked for. I am in the EXACT same size bra I was before surgery. I should have followed my gut instinct adn gone with another surgeon (Lykos) when I went into his office and his entire staff appeared to be under 35, complete w/lash extensions, spray tans, and blindingly white teeth. Understated is not their thing. Of course, I did discuss my dissatisfaction with him, post op and he was willing to re do, at a reduced cost. I don't think I should incur any costs at all. This is not a question of a misunderstanding about the goals of the surgery. There are "risks" associated with cosmetic surgery, but, in this case, he either didn't listen, or just did what he wanted. Neither is acceptable. Unless he is willing to redo at zero cost to me (which would the ethical thing to do, in this particular case), no way-and even then, I don't think I would do it.. I cannot go through another surgery right away-financially, emotionally or take the time off from work anytime soon, so I will live with it, and eventually have it redone by someone that will listen and understands that i want SMALLER breasts.
I had vbeam done as well, and was NOT told about swelling, potential bruising, etc.. in advance, either. WHAT is with these doctors or their assistants? Why don't they tell you the best case and worst case scenario, so you can plan and make treatment decisions, accordingly (with all the info) ? This is the second or third time I've been "misinformed" -by 2 different doctors. No matter what the doctors say now, I double the time- unless I've experienced it myself. If the doc says three days, that means 5-6 days. If they say a week, it's 10 days to 2 weeks. So plan for the worst, and hope for the best-and do your research online in forums such as these!
Swelling and the little bruising I had began to go down dramatically on day 5, 6, 7. Days 8 and 9 out and about in public. Back to work 10 days post surgery and nobody has a clue (just a couple of comments-you look rested and more relaxed, must have been a good vacation). Still have some slight swelling (but not noticeable to really anyone but me) on my right side. They had a little trouble with right side-it was tougher to manipulate than my right. A small patch on the right side of the top of my head still a little numb, but, I can feel it tingling and am told this is a good sign that the nerves are reconnecting/recovering.
As of today, I am VERY happy with my results, my physician and his staff.
I am scheduled to do the deep fx in April. I hope you will post again. They say that the full benefit-via collagen production etc isn't realized until 4-5 months out. I would be interested to hear how you feel about the deep fx in a couple of months. I am doing deep fx as opposed to Obagi Blue Peel because of what i've been told are the deeper and longer lasting results. Was very happy with the blue peel, but am looking for something more.
