Wow, I can't believe it only cost you $250! I live in Colorado and can't research it for less than $550/syringe, which is what I paid. I had Juvederm lip augmentation for the first time, 3.5 weeks ago and a touch-up 2 days ago (the initial one was done conservatively). My lips swelled, making them look alarmingly over-inflated. Then the swelling gradually subsided and the "real" size/shape of my augmented lips looked much less severe (after 3-4 days for me) and that's when I decided to have a touch-up. The touch-up also resulted in immediate swelling and I was frightened! I thought I might even need a reduction because too much Juvederm was used! But the swelling is subsiding and it's looking better. I think I have a couple more days before the swelling is significantly gone and my true lip size/shape will be seen. I do have a large bruise on one half of my upper lip and am wondering if I should apply a warm compress to it (it's been 48 hrs. post procedure). I'm wondering if taking a vitamin C supplement now will help the bruising go away faster? I'm also wondering if over-the-counter vitamin K cream or arnica cream is better for reducing discoloration from bruising? Good luck to you Tamm! I'm not sure how long it's been since your Juvederm injection, but I think the swelling WILL subside. Putting an ice pack gently over my lips immediately afterwards and in the many hours following, helped reduced the swelling for me. I also sat upright a lot, and kept my head propped on pillows when sleeping (to keep my lips elevated above my heart, to help reduce swelling).

Dr. Allen, Thank you so much for replying! The swelling in lips have gone done and I realized that a lot of the fullness was due it. I'm happier with my touch up today. I have a large bruise on one half of my upper lip; do you recommend putting a warm compress on it? What are your thoughts on taking a vitamin C supplement 48 hrs post Juvederm lip augmentation? Do you think (OTC)vitamin K cream is more beneficial than arnica cream for reducing discoloration from bruising?

Dr. Sinclair, Can anything be done to reduce the fullness of Juvederm lip augmentation, after the swelling has subsided? (In the case of what injecting too much juvederm in the lips during a touch up 3 weeks after the initial Juvederm augmentation.) Thank you for any comments you might have!
