Laser worked well for me, there is a bit of redness and a light scattered scabbing which after a few days falls away along with the melasma. It is expensive and the melasma is destined to return anyway.
10% Kojic Acid is the usual treatment, or they also use Glycolic Acid all should be supervised by a Dermatologist. They don't however work if it is true melasma. I goes too deep into the skin, like a tatoo.
