mello, sorry for the delay in replying. I am 5 weeks post op and I am still wearing my corset. My swelling has reduced and I can now get in my pre op clothes, but I still am swollen. It really is a waiting game. I have had other minor problems like seroma, which has been leaking out, so I am still in dressing. My Dr has been excellent, because of my seroma, I have seen him twice a week, he has kept an eye on me.
So far, I have not noticed a big change in the way my clothes fit, but I still have a lot of swelling. I do notice my new contour. No more loose skin, or rolls. No more love handles, it is really wonderful. I know that is it the swelling that stops me from having that full wow factor. Once the swelling goes, I know I would drop down a size or two and I know fit in my pre-op clothes comfortably and I still have serious swelling.
Pain wise, I am very lucky. It was just uncomfortable. I have not felt one pain. I lie, only when they took out the drains. Apart from that, odd pulls etc, but not any pains.
I hope you are looking forward to your op. It really does change your life and your confidence. Even though I have a long way to go, I find myself wearing things I would never had worn before. That bulge went from day one, it is now the waiting game for the swelling.
It really is worth it.
my swelling has reduced a little. But I now have other problems. For the past three weeks I have been leaking fluid (seroma). In week two I it was drained by a syringe, however now, 99% of my stitches are healing and it seems to leak from that one. I have to see my Dr twice a week for the last three weeks. He has been excellent and has kept a close eye on it. Although there is improvement and every day the fluid collection is smaller, it still is a problem.
I can now fit into my pre op clothes, but can still see a lot of swelling. Otherwise, I am fine, I try to walk at least one hour a day, nothing two drastic and I watch what I eat.
One other thing that I have noticed since my tummy tuck, my breasts looks larger. That an extra perk that I had not bargained for. Oh I really cannot wait until it finally heals and the swelling reduces. I know I would look sooooo good then!
Sorry to hear about your new extra stretch marks. However swelling is part of the process. I am 4 weeks post op and have just only got into the clothes I wore into hospital the day of the op. The swelling does take time to go down, and you really have to wait. As my sister had this operation a year ago, I know that this is a waiting game. As is was swollen for 3 months but now looks amazing! so hang in there - but keep checking with your dr in case there it is seroma or other complications.
