I became constipated from the coedine in the tylenol 3's, this actually became the least of my problems. I went on another round of antibiotics due to the diverticuli flaring up and developed thrush mouth from them. The doctor prescribed percaset for pain and I had a reaction to it. Yes, I got a larger garment from the doctor when she had to make a house call as I was in such discomfort I couldn't drive. No, my healing is not normal!!! I just came from the doctor this morning and she said I am unusually hard and still swollen for it being done a month ago. I am on antibiotics AGAIN as she fears infection around the belly button. I went from the doctors straight to physio as I am now going everyday for the next 2 weeks for sonic wave therapy. The doctor says she only sees about one a year like me. I can tell you there is no way I will be back at the gym next week, my five weeks. It's all I can do to get to the grocery store and back without major discomfort. My tummy looks flat, hard and lumpy, sure it will get better but would I do this again.... NOT ON YOUR LIFE!!!!!

I wanted to update after my post of last week as I feel that many people probably don't bother once they start to feel better. It has been two weeks since my procedure and I feel good. I am off all pain medicine now. It was a rough two weeks but the swelling is going down, I am wearing my garment and I can see results. I feel that because of all the scar tissue I had from a major hysterectomy I will have a longer recovery. I still can't do much physically as my stomach gets really hard and uncomfortable. I know it could be weeks before I am back to normal but when I am I'm sure I will be happy I did this. I wanted to mention too that a week after the procedure my doctor paid me a home visit as I was suffering so much with the swelling, brought me a massager and a larger garment. You can't say enough about that! I will update again later. Too all the people who have just had it done and are worried, don't be, it gets better everyday!

I had it done a week ago tomorrow. The first couple of days I felt and looked great. Now my whole belly is swollen to the point it feels like it will split. The only place I am comfortable is laying down and I can't stand most fabric touching me. I cannot wear that support garment if my life depended on it. I had my post op appointment yyesterday and was to told to massge and come back in two weeks if no better. What is this, "you can go back to work in a few days and exercise after 7 crap?" I am miserable!!
I am so swollen and sore on the 6th day post op I CANNOT wear the garment if I wanted to. Ir aggravates the swelling and I cannot stand to have anything touch the abdomen area not even the bed sheet. The skin is also extremelly itchy which I have been prescribed cream and oral syrup for. My skin feels like it is going to split, also quite a lot of bruising. I hope this swelling goes down within days as I am now housebound. I have diverticuli and feel it may be part of the problem as the tylenol 3 made me constipated. This is corrected now and I am on antibiotics.
