I'm so happy to know that I've helped make you feel better :) I hope those pills help you - they sur ehave helped me when I have had the same issues. I wish I had ventured inside an online forum when I had my surgery - it would have saved me so many unknowns! Sounds like your weight loss has been pretty dramatic! It's so tough those first few weeks back to work again. All the sitting and forced to concentrate when all you want to do is rest and recuperate. I remember how challenging it was! I went back after taking 2 weeks off as well.
I have a suggestion for you as far as getting some nutrition in you - make some smoothies or juice in the morning and evening when you're at home. The liquid nutrition is so chock full of everything your body needs to get better. After surgery, it's best to be as easy on your digestive system as possible to give your body the energy reserves to heal itself in the surgical areas. It really helps to have some liquid, concentrated nutrition.
Keep us posted on how things continue to go for you!
I absolutely loved all of the information you put into this post! Thank you for sharing your experience over the months. I had a tummy tuck long ago (about 8 years ago) and experienced just about the same recovery issues and timing. I saw my final results with very little change at about 12 months. I loved my compression garment because it helped keep the swelling down, even long after my plastic surgeon said it was OK to stop using it. It really helped!
Sorry to hear about the incision coming apart and the yeast infection! :( Sounds like you've been quite uncomfortable these days. I hope you feel better soon! For the yeast infection, try going to your health food store and buying the kind of probiotic pills that need to be refrigerated. That kind has the most potent probiotics inside and will work the best for a yeast infection to replace the good bacteria that you lost from the antibiotics. Stay away from sugar until it goes away - that really helps too!
Yeah, I've heard of the Brazilian using fat - really cool procedure! It's true, though...it's costly and you do have to have enough fat to harvest from. When I was doing some research about this procedure, I contacted a practice in Manhattan called advanced cosmetic surgery of new york (they were the ones on Madison Ave) and they explained that after the harvesting phase, you can save your fat in cold storage to use in the future if you can't afford to do the fat transfer right away (buttocks, breasts, face, lips, etc.). They said I could harvest fat every two months or so to get ready for a future fat transfer if I wanted. Just some ideas for you to consider - see if your plastic surgeon has connections with a place like American Cryostem so you can bank your fat until you're ready to use it for your BBT. Hope that helps! Feel better soon!
You seem to be right on track with healing - same thing happened to me as well with the back pain from hunching. You'll feel so liberated to be able to stand upright and move around normally in a bit. Good luck with the drains - yeah they sure are annoying! I had to have mine in for an extra 5 days, but it was worth it because the swelling stayed down.
