Hi Guitar520. I am sorry to hear about your issue. Like you, I have always suffered from hyperhidrosis. After trying Certain-Dri, clinical strength deodarants, oral medication from my dermatologist and presription deodorant, I tried Botox on two separate occasions with absolutely zero results (the doctors told me that I was a very rare case). Although insurance covered a large portion, even if it did work, I would have preferred something more permanent. I decided against ETS because of the risks of compensatory sweating. Given that Miradry is not covered by my insurance, I went with the retrodermal curettage procedure, which is when the surgeon inserts a device to shave the axillary glands. I am now about 1 month post-op and for the results are night and day, at least for my left underarm. My right underarm still feels moist and emits an odor even after wearing deodorant but my left arm is always dry and fresh. I will be doing the procedure again at the 6 month mark to hopefully obtain similar results for my right underarm. I would highly encourage you to look into this procedure if your insurance carrier will cover it. Even if they do not, I probably would've done it anyway. Best of luck!
