  • Posted to Lumpiness Post Lipo - Can Mesotherapy Help? on 18 Jul 2010

Hi, how are you getting on? I am now 1 year past vaser and, unfortunately,. have put on some weight! The problem is that is goes to all the areas that have fatty deposits ie. the lumpy bits on my stomach from his rather bad procedure, my love handles, back (I've NEVER had a fatty back before) and my thighs. Moral of the story - don't gain a single pound extra from your pre vaser weight or it will go on all the other areas. Other than that - no pain or numbness anymore. Still not sure if it was really worth all that money. Ravenski

How long did you have to wait until the indentations went away? Judging by your final post it looks as if you are now happy with the results. I am 5 weeks post op and am quite 'lumpy' on my abs, by belly button also still feels sore and uncomfortable. Really need some reassurance. thanks

Can you tell me how you have progressed since the op? I am now 5 weeks post having my abs done and I also experienced acute pain around my belly button during the op and sharp pains that had tears pouring down my face. I feel optimistic in the morning when I first take off the garment and then the fluid starts to fill up and everything appears uneven. Did you have any uneveness/lumpiness to the area and if so, has it improved now? The area also still feels quite hard and is very sensitive to the touch. thanks

Dear Marian, I agree completely. We are roughly at the same stage of recovery although I only had vaser carried out to the upper and lower abs. The area still feels raw and my belly button looks completely raw. The 'lumpiness' and uneven skin gets me down. I look worse now than I did before. I had a session of 'Accent Radiotherapy' yesterday and am hoping that it might even out the area. There is also still some hardness under the skin which I assume must still be swelling. Everything looks promising when I take off the compression garment in the morning and then 10 mins later the folds and ripples begin to appear. Do let me know how you progress - you can email me directly if you prefer - katieravenscroft@waitrose.com Here's to a speedy recovery for us both! Katie

Hi Marie, How have you got on? I am now roughly 6 weeks post surgery and I still have incredibly lumpy, uneven skin on my abdomen. The area also feels very sensitive to touch and my belly button area became very inflamed. I understand it can take up to 6 months to get the full benefit, but yesterday I decided that some ACCENT radio frequency (which is traditionally given for cellulite) on the area might help improve the appearance. I have to say that at present I still regret having the treatment. All I wanted was to be able to wear a bikini without feeling too self conscious and now I most definitely can't as I have the wrinkled folds of an old woman! Do let me know how you get on. I still seem to have some fluid areas of hardness and am really hoping that they go away soon. I found the advice about bromelein helpful (can be found in Holland and Barrett or the Pharmacist by the post office in Harrow) and Taurine also helps with inflammation. Email me directly if you prefer:- katieravenscroft@waitrose.com Kind regards, Katie
