Hi, I also had dot therapy on September 15th, 2011. And i have redness and still can see the dots from the laser. I also break out. From my experience with Fraxel Repair, which is a similar laser, i can tell u that break out are normal, they go away after a few weeks, the cream you apply during the healing process might have something to do, or it could be a reaction of healing skin. Any way dont touch the pimples at all. This time around after 15 days post laser i decided to spot treat the pimples with retin A and/or epiquin micro (which has some retinol, which vanishes my pimples and the hydroquinone helps me with the red spot left). The epiquin micro does help with the red blotchiness, as i tried it before. The redness after fraxel stayed for over 3 months, vanishing slowly. The dots from fraxel also vanished, but took several weeks in some parts of the face. Some people heal super fast, I dont...but brown and red color, pin points, demarcation lines, pimples, dryness, always go away, in my case.

breaking out after these kind of procedures is normal in my experience. Dont touch them at all. When skin is not raw anymore, ask your derm if u can start epiqui micro by skinmedica which is por pigmentation problems but the retinol it contains is enough to keep your pimples on a leash, also if u can tolerate it use retin a.

Hi Candy, I want to ask you which doctor did you Dot Therapy and how much did it cost? Was is full face or what areas? I would appreciate this information very much as my niece had an accident and i want to help her as soon as possible, she is in C.R. Thank you so much.

I have the same problem and I fixed it 95% using skinmedica's epiquin micro. I still get one or two bumps every day, but without the epiquin, there were many more. If you don't scratch them, the epiquin dries them out making them solid and they come out in a day or two leaving no mark. The brown or red marks you already have will fade in some weeks with this cream. I never had a single of this bumps before fraxel repair, actually they started showing about six months out. I have had mild acne before and right after fraxel, but not these bumps. Now after starting the epiquin, I rarely have a pimple but I still get a couple bumps daily.

Doctors DO lie about the downtime. I had fraxel repair and my face was awfully red and brown for 3 months. I had to use epiquin (hidroquinone) for at least 3 months to return my color to normal. If it weren't for the epiquin micro I would still be red and brown. And my red/brown color was NOT post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, it was just the healing phase that takes about six months. The results were NONE. The benefit I obtained was from the Epiquin micro which has retinol in it and so it controlled my mild acne and renewed my skin. But I actually had the fraxel repair to minimize two surgical scars 13 days old, and after 4 fraxel repairs (only to the scar sites) at 12 wk intervals, I can say they are almost invisible, erased 90%. I could have saved lots of anguish, money and downtime by just doing the two fresh scars. On an old pin point acne scar which got two fraxel repairs, I see no improvement at all. I don't know if my skin will be fine 2 yrs post fraxel, I should have taken the risk only on the small patches of the scar sites which were already damaged skin. Now it is too late, and I can only hope for no adverse effects. I think that Angela was right by saying that you should just use creams to improve your face, especially if your skin is still in good shape and you only mean to correct minor imperfections. I have seen pics of older patients who supposedly had great improvement, but I won't believe they are real until I personally meet one of these patients. A facelift can cost the same as fraxel, the recovery is shorter, safer and the results are guaranteed. If you don't have wrinkles yet, then stick with retin A or skinmedica's retinol, epiquin micro and moisturizers on a daily basis for a few months and you'll be impressed.
